HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, QUEEN SQUARE, BATH
ORGAN SPECIFICATION
Based on S.Bavo, Haarlem, with a few on Paris’ Notre Dame(ND) and Madeleine(M), the organ was designed by Malcolm Hill and built by Wyvern Organs of Bideford. The whole organ is tuned to Orphic Equal Temperament i.e. 5ths are perfect (3:2) rather than octaves (2:1). When Bath Diocese insisted that 2:1 octaves and equal temperament were to be used, these were added as an optional switch, but sounded so hideous that this option was never used. Some time after Holy Trinity Church, Queen Square, Bath was closed, the organ was moved to Holy Trinity Church, Taunton.
